An epic Gildredge Manor wedding.
As we all dream of fun-filled summer weddings, I wanted to look back at Emma and James’s stunning Gildredge Manor wedding from 2019. From the first time I met this awesome outdoor-loving couple I knew we are going to have a blast. Both Emma and James are massive kit-surfers, something I have tried but never mastered!
There wedding was at the wonderful Gildredge Manor, which is a beautiful privately owned Georgian Manor houses, in Eastbourne Old Town, set within the lovely Gildredge Park and a stone’s throw from the beach. For this sea-loving couple, it was a no brainer that we would sneak off down to the beach for some shots at some point in the day!
NOW that is a wedding dress!!
I have been a wedding photographer for over 15 years I still get really excited to see a brides wedding dress and Emmas’s dress from Halfpenny London, was no exception, with a flower lace corset and tulle skirt, it was SO BEAUTIFUL and very her!!! With a fab pair of Irregular Choice wedding shoes and the most awesome wedding bouquet from Faye’s Flowershed, Eastbourne. Full of bright and vibrant flowers, it still kept that cottage garden feel.
One of the many beautiful aspects of Gildredge Manor is it’s amazing, Georgian, full-height windows. That give allows for tons of natural light and on a beautiful summers day, it was a wedding photographers dream!
Here comes the bride.
I love this moment and Emma’s infectious grin says it all! The pure joy and excitement! With her incredibly proud dad at her side as she walked down the aisle, she only had eyes for James! Needless to say, it was a wedding ceremony filled with joy and laughter!
Just 5 minutes together!
It’s always nice to find just a few minutes to wander off and have some time together during the drink reception and a chance for some natural and relaxed shots of the two of you. I usually suggest near the end to the drinks as the guests are invited to sit down for the wedding breakfast, this way no-one will miss you. With Gildredge Manor nestled into the park, it was easy to slip out and get some beautiful shots of Emma and James.
Surfboards and splashes of colour!
I loved their bright colours and surf themes of their wedding day! James had handmade all the wood surfboard table names, which looks amazing alongside the beautiful splashes of colourful flowers in jam jars.
Life is always better at the beach.
After the wedding breakfast, we snuck off down the beach to take full advantage of some beautiful evening light! The sea is one of the great loves in my life, now I am not as cool as these two with there mastery of kite-surfing but I am always up for dip and some of these shots involved a rather soggy wedding photographer!
Trouser splittingly good!!!
To finish off an epic day there was some truly epic dancing! So epic that James split his trousers but to save his modesty I have not included any of that particular moment!! But as you can see there was some serious partying to be had!
I am incredibly lucky to have a job I love and working with awesome, fun-loving people like Emma and James are exactly why I love my job so much!! To me a wedding day should be about you two as a couple, it should be a day to celebrate your love for each other with the people you love most. It should be a reflection of who you are and Emma and James’s wedding was exactly that!
“Wedding photography is sooo much more than being able to capture pleasing and technically masterful photos, the wedding photographer has to be head honcho when you need them to be, and discreet to the point of invisibility when needed, too. I’m so glad we chose Danni for our wedding photographer because she was all of those things and more.”
“She was persuasive and charismatic for the group shots, and I’m not sure how she managed to get so many good images of our ceremony so discreetly. I’m embarrassed to note that Danni was also very much present for the exact moment my trousers ripped during the first dance, but part of Danni’s appeal to us was her candid wedding photography style.”
“I don’t know if many newly-weds would include their photographer in with the top memorable things of their day, but for us, it makes such a huge difference that we can.”
