I wanted to share this beautiful rustic barn wedding with you! Tash and Brian had a church ceremony and the most stunning reception at the wonderful Patricks Barn. A summer wedding to make you smile!
It’s a family affair!
This was an extra special wedding for me, as I had photographed Tash’s Mum’s wedding almost exactly 10 years previously. One of the few downsides of my job is I meet and work with awesome people and then lose touch with them so to get to see them again is always amazing!
Tash got ready at a beautiful little AirBnB in Forest Row with her mum and sister, while Brian was literally across the garden in another part of the accommodation. Being so close together allowed me to capture both the bridal and groom’s party. I love this part of the wedding day, the details the nerves and capturing those intermate moments between you and your closest family. But the highlight of the morning for me was when Tash’s dad saw her for the first time and capturing the love and joy of his reaction was such an honour!! It’s these fleeting moments that mean so much to all of us that always bring a tear to my eye!
Red, white and blue and the I DO’s!
With Brian being from the US, where they both live there now, but Tash’s roots are firmly here in the UK the colour themes for the wedding were red, white and blue, to reflect their British/American fusion wedding. Tash’s bouquet was simply stunning, set off perfectly by her incredible blue shoes!
With a simple and emotional church ceremony at the local church, Brian’s anticipation and joy at seeing his beautiful bride made for an emotional service!
A beautiful rustic Barn wedding reception.
Patrick’s Barn is a 17th-century Sussex Barn on a private estate and farm just outside West Hoathly near East Grinstead in West Sussex. It is such a beautiful and intimate wedding venue, nestled in the Sussex countryside, with a drive lined by giant Californian Redwood trees, perfect for photographs!! Tash and Brian added some beautiful personal touches with, one of my favourites where the glass bottles filled with gypsophila hanging from the trees. They had an afternoon tea drinks style drinks reception on a perfect English summer afternoon!
SMOKING!!!!!
Towards the end of the drinks reception and with the help of Tash’s sister, who was running around wildly, waving the smoke bombs brilliantly!! I captured these awesome shots using smoke bombs! Smoke bombs are so much fun and come in loads of colours and make for epic wedding photographs!
The perfect rustic barn wedding breakfast!!!
Along with wonderful personal touches from Tash and Brian, Katherine Bly flowers dressed the barn with stunning floral table runners. With the layout of the tables in a banqueting style, the floral runners looked incredible, setting off the barn to perfection!! Oh and the food…. what can I say The Garden chef’s food is to die for, a feast for the eyes and the tummy!
Before the dancing began in the evening we snuck off to the wonderful rocks just by the barn, it is always nice to whisk the couple away for 10 minutes of photographs but also it allows just a few moments to spend together. A wedding day is often a whirlwind and to take a few minutes out and to spend together ( less romantically with me!!) is always a treat!
These two beauties were a joy to photograph, Brian has the most contagious smile. Marrying the woman of his dreams who can blame him!! What an amazing rustic barn wedding!
